Kate Danaher and Amy Cloud were introduced to the crowd at the Lower Brandywine Storytelling Festival in 2007. Although they have been performing together in various forms for more than 20 years, notably as the founders of the children’s entertainment troupe, Fiddlin' and Foolin', this performance may just have launched them to the national storytelling stage. The rave reviews included that of the Wilmington News Journal, which proclaimed: "Danaher and Cloud absolutely stole the show." Darned right we’re pleased to have them back.
Kate's complete character immersion in stories from the collection of her friend, the late Eamon Kelly, of Dublin, Ireland, is a beautiful thing to behold. She delivers delightfully riveting, poignant and humorous tales of Irish country life and the Irish American experience.
But the symbiotic relationship of these two performers is what makes Kate's stories resonate. The relationship is as comfortable and natural as what you’d see on the front porch of Amy 's mountain home. Point and musical counterpoint. Kate’s County Sligo style Irish fiddle meets Amy’s Russell County Virginia autoharp, guitar, banjo, and mountain dulcimer. The result is a joyous celebration sparkling with harmony and wit. And one you won't want to miss. View PDF >
